The chai for when the air feels heavy and the body doesn’t.
In Hindi: Sonth Chai | Time: Same as regular chai | Serves: 2
You need
- 1.5 cups water
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tsp tea leaves (or 2 tea bags)
- 1/4 tsp Sookhi Adrak (dry ginger powder)
- 3–4 cardamom pods, lightly crushed
- Jaggery or sugar to taste
Method
Bring water to a boil. Add ginger powder and cardamom. Simmer 2 minutes. Add tea leaves. Simmer 1 minute. Add milk. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, simmer 2 more minutes. Strain. Sweeten with jaggery. Drink while hot.
