The simplest recipe in this collection. Two ingredients, two minutes, done every morning before anything else.
What You Need
- 1/2 tsp Sendriya Triphala Powder
- 1 cup warm water (warm — not boiling)
Method
Heat water until warm — around 50–60°C, comfortable to drink. Do not use boiling water. Add triphala and stir well for 30 seconds. Drink immediately on an empty stomach, 30 minutes before breakfast. Or, alternatively, take it at night 30 minutes before bed — both timings work, and the choice is yours based on your schedule.
Nani's note: Start with 1/4 teaspoon and build to 1/2 teaspoon over two weeks. The adjustment period is real. The taste is complex — sour, astringent, and bitter together. All three are the correct taste. If it tastes like nothing, the quality is poor.
Why Warm Water (Not Boiling)
Triphala contains tannins — the active astringent compounds — which partially degrade at high temperatures. Warm water dissolves the powder completely and preserves the tannins. Boiling water is not recommended for this preparation.
Why This Works
Triphala is not a laxative. It is a daily tonic for the digestive and eliminative systems. Effects accumulate over weeks and months of consistent use — most people notice a meaningful difference in digestive comfort and regularity at 4–6 weeks. Ayurvedic practitioners typically recommend a minimum of 6 months for the full range of benefits. Patience is not optional. It is part of using triphala correctly.
